Lebanese soldiers killed, injured in Israeli strike, army says
The Lebanese Armed Forces said one of its soldiers was killed and 18 others wounded -- some seriously -- in an Israeli strike on a military position in the southern Tyre region on Sunday.

Israel targeted an "army center in Al-Amiriya on the Al-Qalila-Tyre road," the LAF wrote on X. "The center also sustained severe damage," it added.
The IDF told ABC News the incident is under review, saying in a statement: "The IDF expresses regret over the incident and emphasizes that its operations are directed solely against the Hezbollah terrorist organization, not the Lebanese Armed Forces."
Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said the strike was a "bloody message rejecting all efforts to reach a cease-fire," referring to the Lebanese army's traditional position as part of peace efforts.
