Egypt to host ceasefire talks on Monday
Egypt will host talks with Israeli and Hamas representatives on Monday to build on the ceasefire "momentum" produced by U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan, according to a statement posted to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's official Facebook account on Saturday.

It is not yet clear where in Egypt the talks will be held. High-level representatives have been travelling to the country in recent days, including Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
The talks will include discussions of "the ground conditions and details of the exchange of all Israeli detainees and Palestinian prisoners," the Egyptian ministry's statement said.
"The meeting is hoped to end the war and alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Palestinian people, which has continued for two consecutive years," it added.
"These consultations come within the framework of efforts to build on the regional and international momentum achieved following the presentation of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip," the statement said.
