President Donald Trump told ABC News on Tuesday morning he is "not happy" with either Israel or Iran after the opening hours of a nascent ceasefire between the two combatants were marred by reported exchanges. Trump said Iran and Israel both "violated" the ceasefire that he announced late on Monday.

Through last week, the president and his administration continued to push back on an early intelligence report suggesting that the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities may have only set Tehran's nuclear program back by months.

IDF says it bombed Fordo site to 'disrupt access'

The Israel Defense Forces said it attacked the Fordo uranium enrichment site -- buried deep under a mountain outside the Iranian city of Qom -- on Monday to "disrupt access routes" to the facility.

Fordo was among the facilities attacked by U.S. bombers using Massive Ordnance Penetrators -- also known as "bunker-busters" -- this weekend.

The Israeli strike on Fordo on Monday came as part of a new wave of IDF attacks on Iranian military and governmental targets in the capital Tehran and elsewhere.

'Very significant damage' expected at Fordo, IAEA chief says

International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi told an emergency board meeting of the body on Monday that a diplomatic solution and de-escalation of the conflict are needed to address the crisis in Iran.

Grossi told the IAEA board that calm is needed for agency inspectors to access Iran's nuclear sites to assess the situation and the damage there caused by recent Israeli and U.S. attacks.

Of the site at Fordo -- built under a mountain and therefore only thought reachable by the American "bunker-buster" bombs dropped by U.S. bombers on Saturday -- Grossi said that "no one, including the IAEA, is in a position to have fully assessed the underground damage."

"Given the explosive payload utilized and the extreme vibration-sensitive nature of centrifuges, very significant damage is expected to have occurred," Grossi said.

Iran military spokesperson issues warning to 'gambler' Trump

In comments broadcast by Iran's state-aligned Tasnim news agency on Monday, an Iranian military spokesperson addressed President Donald Trump directly and warned of consequences for Saturday's U.S. strike on Tehran's nuclear program.

"Mr. Trump, the gambler," Ebrahim Zolfaqari, a spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters, said. "You may start this war, but we will be the ones to finish it."

US strikes won't stop nuclear program, Khamenei aide says

Ali Shamkhani, an adviser to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in a post to X on Sunday that the American strikes on Iran's key nuclear facilities will not stop Tehran's nuclear program.

"Even assuming that the facilities are completely destroyed, the game is not over; the enriched materials, local expertise and politics will remain," Shamkhani said.

"Now, the political and operational initiative, along with the right to legitimate defense, lies with the side that plays smart and avoids indiscriminate fire," he added. "The surprises will continue!"
