Aerial attacks between Israel and Iran continued overnight into Monday, marking a fourth day of strikes following Israel's Friday attack. That surprise strike hit the heart of Iran's nuclear program, killing several nuclear scientists as well as high-ranking military leaders, according to Israeli officials.

The U.S. did not provide any military assistance or have any involvement in Israel's Friday strike, a U.S. official told ABC News. President Donald Trump told ABC News on Sunday, "It's possible we could get involved."

Iranian enrichment site impacted in attack, IAEA says

Iran's Natanz enrichment site has been impacted by Israeli attacks, however, there are no elevated radiation levels. The Esfahan and Fordow sites have not been impacted, Iranian officials have confirmed to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

"This development is deeply concerning. I have repeatedly stated that nuclear facilities must never be attacked, regardless of the context or circumstances, as it could harm both people and the environment. Such attacks have serious implications for nuclear safety, security and safeguards, as well as regional and international peace and security," IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said in a statement Friday.

"The IAEA has consistently underlined that 'armed attacks on nuclear facilities could result in radioactive releases with grave consequences within and beyond the boundaries of the State which has been attacked,'" Grossi said, citing a general conference resolution.

The IAEA is ready to provide technical assistance and ensure the protection of nuclear facilities, Grossi said.

"IAEA continues to monitor the situation closely, stands ready to provide technical assistance, and remains committed to its nuclear safety, security and safeguards mandate in all circumstances," Grossi said.

Speaker says Iran will face 'grave consequences' if it targets US interests

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson issued a warning to Iran on Friday, saying it will face grave consequences if it targets U.S. interests.

"Israel and the United States have been united, including in our shared insistence that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon. President Trump and his Administration have worked tirelessly to ensure that outcome. Unfortunately, Iran has refused to agree and even declared yesterday its intent to build a new enrichment facility," Johnson said in a statement.

When asked if the United States participated in the attack in any way, Trump responded by saying "I don't want to comment on that."

Trump tells Iran to strike deal as Israel launches wave of attacks

President Donald Trump is urging Iranian officials to strike a nuclear deal with the United States, suggesting the drawn-out negotiations between the two sides are what caused Israel to launch a preemptive strike.

"I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to 'just do it,' but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done," Trump claimed in a social media post.

He then issued a stark warning that there will be more destruction if there isn't a deal signed soon.

"There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire," he added.
