Palestinian Authority battles West Bank militants in Jenin
Escalating clashes between Palestinian Authority security forces and militants in the West Bank city of Jenin overnight left multiple civilians injured and at least one fighter killed, according to four local sources.

PA forces are seeking to "eradicate sedition and chaos" according to local media citing a PA spokesperson. But Jenin residents and local journalists reported unarmed crowds being targeted by tear gas and gunfire amid protests over the security forces actions.
Locals told ABC News that the PA operation -- which is coordinated with Israel -- has been ongoing for five days, besieging a refugee camp in the city.
