Trump admin updates: White House asks court to stay order to ground deportation flights

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced Monday a 25% increase on electricity exports to some American states as a result of President Donald Trump's tariffs on Canada.

"President Trump's tariffs are a disaster for the U.S. economy. They're making life more expensive for American families and businesses," Ford said at a news conference. He added, "Until the threat of tariffs is gone for good, Ontario won't back down. We'll stand strong, use every tool in our toolkit and do whatever it takes to protect Ontario."

Ford previously threatened to cut off electricity completely if Trump's trade war continues.

Gwynne Wilcox, a member of the National Labor Relations Board, arrived at headquarters on Monday to supporters after being reinstated to her post by a federal judge.

Wilcox took a moment to speak, according to pool reporters, describing the experience since her abrupt firing by President Trump in January to her return on Monday “long and difficult." She said it wasn't just about her job but the functioning of the independent regulatory agency as a whole.

The judge who reinstated Wilcox, in what could be a pivotal case moving forward as Trump tries to remake the federal workforce, wrote in their ruling that "an American President is not a king -- not even an 'elected' one -- and his power to remove federal officers and honest civil servants like plaintiff is not absolute."

A source close to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed to ABC News that Ukraine will propose a partial ceasefire in talks with the U.S. on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia. According to a source, the partial ceasefire would apply to long-range air strikes and attacks at sea. The timeframe for the truce remains unclear.

"We want to propose a partial ceasefire that can be monitored and then see how the Russians respond to determine the next steps," the source added.

Zelenskyy is expected to arrive Saudi Arabia on Monday. Part of his team will remain in Riyadh for negotiations with U.S. partners on Tuesday, including Ukraine's Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga, and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov.

With Secretary of State Marco Rubio en route to Saudi Arabia for meetings with Ukrainian representatives on ending Russia's invasion, the Kremlin said on Monday that no talks are planned between Russia and the U.S. there this week.

"We are at the initial stage of the path to restore our bilateral relations. The path is quite long, difficult, but at least two presidents have expressed political will in this direction," Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

Peskov denied reports about plans to hold a new round of talks with the U.S. in Saudi Arabia, saying "it is not true,"
