U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has launched an immigration enforcement operation in Boston, dubbed Patriot 2.0, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump on Saturday posted a "Apocalypse Now"-themed post, telling officials that "Chicago is about to find out why it's called the Department of WAR." Trump signed an executive order Friday to change the name of the Department of Defense to the Department of War, though the official name change requires the approval of Congress.

Trump plans to attend the U.S. Open men's final tennis match in New York on Sunday, the White House said.

The announcement comes after Giuliani was injured in a New Hampshire car accident over the weekend. In the announcement, Trump lauded Giuliani's service as mayor, which ran from 1994 to 2001.

"As President of the United States of America, I am pleased to announce that Rudy Giuliani, the greatest Mayor in the history of New York City, and an equally great American Patriot, will receive THE PRESIDENTIAL MEDAL OF FREEDOM, our Country’s highest civilian honor. Details as to time and place to follow," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

Giuliani is out of the hospital and in good spirits, someone familiar with his condition told ABC News. He remains in New Hampshire, they said.

Ted Goodman, the Giuliani aide who was driving the Ford Bronco involved in the accident, responded to Trump’s announcement with a statement.

"There is no American more deserving of this honor. Mayor Rudy Giuliani took down the Mafia, saved New York City, comforted the nation following 9/11, and served in countless other ways to improve the lives of others," he said. "Thank you, President Trump, for honoring his life and legacy."

Giuliani was disbarred in New York and the District of Columbia in 2024 over his efforts aiding Trump's bid to overturn the 2020 election.

Their meeting comes after President Trump increased tariffs on India last month as punishment for purchasing Russian oil throughout the Russia-Ukraine war. In a social media post on Monday, Trump continued to criticize India's trade relationship with the U.S. and its imports of Russian oil.

"They have now offered to cut their Tariffs to nothing, but it’s getting late. They should have done so years ago. Just some simple facts for people to ponder!!!" Trump wrote in his post.

Trump calls on drug companies to 'justify the success' of COVID vaccines

Amid turmoil at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Trump on Monday called on pharmaceutical companies to "justify the success" of their COVID vaccines.

"It is very important that the Drug Companies justify the success of their various Covid Drugs. Many people think they are a miracle that saved Millions of lives. Others disagree! With CDC being ripped apart over this question, I want the answer, and I want it NOW," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

"I have been shown information from Pfizer, and others, that is extraordinary, but they never seem to show those results to the public. Why not??? They go off to the next 'hunt' and let everyone rip themselves apart, including Bobby Kennedy Jr. and CDC, trying to figure out the success or failure of the Drug Companies Covid work," he continued.

Trump called on the companies to "clear up this MESS, one way or the other!" and said he hoped Operation Warp Speed -- a key achievement of his first term -- was "as 'BRILLIANT' as many say it was."

It's unclear what exact data Trump wants the companies to provide. Studies show COVID vaccine programs saved millions of lives during the pandemic.

Trump praises Washington's Bowser on handling of federal law enforcement surge

Amid his federal takeover of Washington, President Trump on Monday praised Mayor Muriel Bowser for working with his team to bring crime down. He went on to slam Democratic leaders in other states who've resisted or pushed back on his administration's efforts to the same in their cities.

"Her statements and actions were positive, instead of others like Pritzker, Wes Moore, Newscum, and the 5% approval rated Mayor of Chicago, who spend all of their time trying to justify violent Crime, instead of working with us to completely ELIMINATE it, which we have done in Washington, D.C., NOW A CRIME FREE ZONE," Trump wrote on his social media platform.

"Wouldn’t it be nice to say that about Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and even the Crime Drenched City of Baltimore??? It can happen, and it can happen FAST! Work with us!!!" Trump wrote, adding: "Congratulations to Mayor Muriel Bowser, but don’t go Woke on us. D.C. is a GIANT VICTORY that never has to end!!!"
