Rob and Michele Reiner murders latest: New timeline details emerge
Nick Reiner, 32, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
More details are coming to light about the timeline of the alleged murders of Hollywood director Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner as their son, Nick Reiner, appears in court on allegations that he killed his parents.
On Saturday night, Nick Reiner -- who was living on his parents' property in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to a former security guard -- got into an argument with his father at a holiday party and was seen acting strangely, sources told ABC News.

Prosecutors allege Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer Reiner were stabbed to death early Sunday morning. Both suffered multiple sharp force injuries, according to the medical examiner report.
Also early on Sunday morning, Nick Reiner checked into a hotel in Santa Monica, sources confirmed to ABC News. The hotel room has been searched for any possible evidence, sources said.
When a massage therapist arrived at the Reiners' home on Sunday afternoon and got no answer, she contacted the Reiners' daughter, Romy Reiner, to let her in, law enforcement sources told ABC News.
Romy Reiner went into the master bedroom area and found her father's body, sources said.
The couple's time of death will be determined by the medical examiner.
Nick Reiner -- who is charged with two counts of first-degree murder with the special circumstance of multiple murders -- made a brief first appearance in court on Wednesday. He appeared quiet and calm, and sat behind the glass and behind his attorney, Alan Jackson -- who helped defend Karen Read in Massachusetts. He spoke briefly when addressed by Jackson or the judge.
The 32-year-old waived the right to a speedy arraignment. The arraignment is set for Jan. 7.
"Our hearts go out to the entire Reiner family," Jackson said after court on Wednesday. "There are very, very complex and serious issues that are associated with this case."
"We ask that during this process, you allow the system to move forward in the way that it was designed ... not with jumping to conclusions, but with restraint and with dignity and with the respect that this system and this process deserves and that the family deserves," Jackson said.
Videos obtained by ABC News appear to show the moments leading up to Nick Reiner's arrest on Sunday night.
One of the videos appears to show Nick Reiner moments before his arrest near the University of Southern California. In the video, he's wearing jeans, a striped jacket and a baseball cap. He's seen with a red backpack slung over one shoulder as he enters a gas station and purchases a drink.
Another video shows him outside walking near a crosswalk when several police vehicles with flashing lights surround him. He can be seen in the video raising his hands.
