The 97th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O'Brien, ended with "Anora" taking home the coveted trophy for best picture.

"Wicked" star Cynthia Erivo, who is nominated for best actress, may achieve EGOT status tonight if she wins the coveted Oscar in her category.

Erivo's fellow best actress nominee, Fernanda Torres, who is nominated for her performance in "I'm Still Here," could become the first Brazilian actress to win the award. Additionally, best actress nominee Karla Sofía Gascón could also make history as the first openly trans actor to win an Academy Award.

In the best actor race, "Sing Sing" star Colman Domingo would become the first Afro-Latino to win the Oscar for best actor if he won his category.

"The Substance" director Coralie Fargeat could become the fourth woman to win the Oscar for best director.

Songwriter Diane Warren, who earned her 16th Oscar nomination for best original song this year, may also finally win the coveted award.

Who is performing at the Oscars?

Along with the awards, Oscar viewers will be treated to performances by some of the biggest acts in Hollywood.

Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and Raye are all included on the list of performers taking the stage at the 97th Academy Awards.

A press release sharing the news teased that viewers can expect "showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends."

In a letter sent to Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences members in January, it was revealed that the 2025 Oscars would forgo the usual live performances of the best original song nominees as it had in years past.

Instead, the show's presentation will focus on songwriters and will look to "celebrate their artistry through personal reflections from the teams who bring these songs to life" to "uncover the stories and inspiration behind this year's nominees."
