Lainey Wilson talks creating a cozy home, new collection with Mackenzie-Childs

Lainey Wilson has been on a legendary run the past few years: collaborations with Wrangler and Charlie 1 Horse; launching her own boot brand, Golden West; a guest role on the new season of "Leanne"; and sold-out tours across the country, all while preparing to return as host of the CMA Awards this November.
This kind of grueling schedule would push anyone to want to stay home a little more, which is why Wilson's latest collaboration, Lainey Wilson x Mackenzie-Childs, makes so much sense right now.
The small collection includes two pieces, the Cowgirl Boot Dish and the Cowgirl Bud Vase, each in three colorways of the traditional Mackenzie-Childs check print.
"Good Morning America" got the chance to chat with Wilson via email about these pieces and more -- and she even gave us some advice for settling into cozy season this fall.
Lainey Wilson on moving from fashion to home collabs
"I've been fortunate to work on a bunch of different fashion collaborations over the years, but this one feels different, because it connects to how I live when I'm off the stage," the country superstar told us. "I've always said that owning MacKenzie-Childs feels like you've made it!"
Wilson said the choice to partner with Mackenzie-Childs was a natural one, describing herself as a longtime fan of the brand's iconic pottery and housewares.
"The brand has had a place in my home and kitchen for as long as I can remember. MacKenzie-Childs just has such an iconic look, and to me, it has always represented celebrating everyday life in a beautiful, joyful way."
Creating a sacred space to come home to
The recently-married Wilson explained to us that her current season of life has made coming home even more sacred for her. She explained:
"When you're constantly on the road, you learn to deeply treasure the space you return to. Stepping into houseware felt like such a natural evolution -- it lets me share another side of myself alongside a brand I've genuinely admired for years."
While this initial collection is small, it is intentionally crafted and curated to be able to blend seamlessly into your existing decor across a wide variety of styles.
"These pieces are also the ideal canvas to blend my Bell Bottom Country style with the classic MacKenzie-Childs aesthetic," Wilson wrote. "Every piece is hand-painted by an artisan in Aurora, NY, and no two pieces are alike. Transforming that familiar boot silhouette into ceramic pieces was such a fun way to add a personal touch."
Wilson also emphasized how much she enjoyed the process of creating these pieces with the brand, adding that while she is excited about the initial launch, it is "only the beginning."
What the cowgirl boot means to Lainey Wilson
"I've been wearing boots since before I could walk," the musician explained, adding, "They're just a part of me at this point -- they give me all the confidence I need."
Even if Western boots don't play as big a part in your everyday wardrobe as they do in Wilson's, the sentiment extends far beyond the rodeo and stage.
"As a Southern girl, boots are our armor. They carry your story, they reflect where you've been and where you're headed. They stand for roots, individuality, and not being afraid to stand out, which is exactly the energy I wanted to bring into this collection."
How to create a cozy space as we head into the holidays
For Wilson, home decor is all about "warmth and comfort," especially as we head toward the holiday months.
We asked Wilson for her best tips to get your home cozy-season ready, and she came with the goods.
"My biggest tip is to layer in pieces that have real personality and tell a story, whether that's a cherished heirloom passed down through family, a unique vintage find collected on the road, or a bold statement piece that simply makes you smile when you walk into the room," she said.
She added, "I love putting fall flowers into my Emerald check tea kettle on top of the stove for fall."
