Inside Trump and Putin's historic summit: See the photos

The two leaders met in Alaska on Friday to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.

After more than two hours of talks, the two leaders appeared in a joint press conference, with both leaders alluding to progress but not announcing any specifics, including a ceasefire deal.

"There's no deal until there's a deal," Trump said.

The meeting took place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and was aimed at ending the war in Ukraine. Absent from the meeting was Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The event kicked off with both leaders stepping from their respective aircrafts and walking down a red carpet flanked by F-22 fighters and greeting each other before taking part in a photo opportunity.

During the summit, Putin was joined by Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov while Trump was accompanied by special envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The group met in a room with a blue backdrop with the words "Pursuing Peace" on it.
