Trump reportedly says Alex Pretti had a 'dangerous and unpredictable gun'
In a telephone interview with the Wall Street Journal on Sunday, President Donald Trump reportedly asserted that Alex Pretti, the man killed Saturday in Minneapolis by a federal agent, was carrying a "dangerous and unpredictable gun" but promised that the administration was reviewing everything about the shooting.
The president also reportedly declined to say whether he thought the officer who killed Pretti this weekend acted appropriately, according to the Journal.
“We’re looking, we’re reviewing everything and will come out with a determination,” Trump said.
Trump reportedly then went on to criticize Pretti for carrying a weapon at a protest.
“I don’t like any shooting. I don’t like it,” he said. “But I don’t like it when somebody goes into a protest and he’s got a very powerful, fully loaded gun with two magazines loaded up with bullets also. That doesn’t play good either.”
The president reportedly asserted that Pretti had a “very dangerous gun, a dangerous and unpredictable gun,” and added, “It’s a gun that goes off when people don’t know it.”
On the question of how much longer federal authorities would continue to operate in Minnesota, Trump reportedly said, “At some point we will leave.”
“We’ve done, they’ve done a phenomenal job,” he said, without offering a time frame for when that would occur. Asked if agents would be leaving Minnesota, Trump reportedly said, “We’ll leave a different group of people there for the financial fraud.”

President Clinton: 'Actions we take will shape our history for years to come'
Former President Bill Clinton issued a statement on Sunday speaking out about the "unacceptable" and "horrible scenes" in Minneapolis and other communities, including the fatal shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
"At every turn, the people in charge have lied to us, told us not to believe what we’ve seen with our own eyes, and pushed increasingly aggressive and antagonistic tactics, including impeding investigations by local authorities," Clinton said.
"Over the course of a lifetime, we face only a few moments where the decisions we make and the actions we take will shape our history for years to come. This is one of them," Clinton said.
"If we give our freedoms away after 250 years, we might never get them back. It is up to all of us who believe in the promise of American democracy to stand up, speak out, and show that our nation still belongs to We the People," he said.
VA Secretary blames state, local officials for their 'refusal to cooperate'
Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins has issued a statement confirming that Alex Pretti, who federal agents fatally shot on Saturday, was a nurse at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, and Collins offered his condolences to the Pretti family.
Collins went on to blame state and local officials, saying in his statement, “Such tragedies are unfortunately happening in Minnesota because of state and local officials’ refusal to cooperate with the federal government to enforce the law and deport dangerous illegal criminals.”
