Arlette Saenz is a White House Reporter/Producer at ABC News in Washington, D.C. She is a part of the network’s team covering President Donald Trump’s administration, Capitol Hill and national politics.
Saenz has filed live on-air reports for ABC NewsOne, the network’s affiliate service, ABC programs “World News Now” and “America This Morning,” and ABC News Digital. She also regularly contributes to ABC News Radio and writes for ABCNews.com
Saenz previously reported on President Barack Obama’s administration and the 2016 presidential campaign. She traveled across the U.S. and to more than a dozen countries to cover Obama, including his historic visits to Cuba, Hiroshima and Kenya. She also closely reported on Vice President Joe Biden, including his 2016 decision-making process. During the 2016 presidential campaign, Saenz reported and produced from key primary and caucus states, at primary and general election debates, at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
Prior to covering the White House, Saenz was a digital journalist on the Senate beat, reporting on the 2013 government shutdown and the 2014 midterm elections.
During the 2012 election, Saenz was one of the network's off-air political reporters. Over the course of the election cycle, she was assigned as an embed reporter with the campaigns of Biden, Newt Gingrich, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Rick Santorum.
Saenz started her career at ABC News as an intern with "Nightline" and returned to ABC News as a desk assistant following her graduation from the University of Notre Dame.
